About the role
Description: The Dietitian I is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating the nutrition care for all patients/residents in the facility; on admission, quarterly and whenever there is a significant change in status to support optimum nutrition care. The dietitian acts as a liaison to the Nutrition and Food Services for program specific initiatives and supports. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition accredited by the College of Dietitian's of Alberta (CDA) is required. Active registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta required. Successful completion of an internship program or practicum training program that is accredited by the Dietitians of Canada is required
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum three (3) years recent experience in clinical dietetics or community nutrition, with a focus on diabetes and group teaching experience required. Must be able to assess patients' changing educational and nutritional needs as disease progresses. Ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary health care team. Proficient in group teaching and individual counseling.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency and knowledge of insulin pumps. Innovativeness in teaching methods and development of teaching aides. Demonstrates initiative in program revision and development. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Actively updates knowledge related to conditions treated.
