About the role

Cyber Security Analyst Vernon, British Columbia - On-site

The Cyber Security Analyst is a hands-on guardian of Tolko’s digital ecosystem, protecting systems across on‑premises, cloud, and SaaS environments. With a passion for cybersecurity and a sharp technical edge , this role brings prevention , detection , and response strategies to life while strengthening security awareness across the organization. We’re looking for a  Cyber Security Analyst  to join our head office located in  Vernon, British Columbia . Our head office houses Tolko’s corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement and Human Resources. This is an on-site position and remote work is not available at this time.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology , Computer Science , or a related field. -5+ years of progressive experience in information security or IT infrastructure across multi-site enterprise environments . -Hands-on experience with security platforms such as Microsoft Defender suite, Palo Alto Cortex/XSOAR, Microsoft Purview, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cloud security in Azure, M365, and SaaS environments.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with MDR/SOC teams and managed security service providers.
  • Experience developing or maintaining incident response playbooks and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of privacy legislation (PIPEDA, BC PIPA) and its intersection with information security .
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical issues to diverse audiences .

In this role, you will:

  • Monitor, triage, and respond to security events across hybrid events.
  • Resolve security incidents and outages, performing root cause analysis and driving remediation to closure.
  • Develop, maintain, and exercise incident response playbooks aligned with the NIST Incident Response lifecycle.
  • Contribute to cyber resilience initiatives including backup validation, BC/DR planning, and incident preparedness exercises. -Evaluate and integrate security technologies to address evolving threats and business requirements.
  • Deliver security awareness guidance and education to employees across the organization.
  • Build effective working relationships with IT teams, business units, and external partners
