What we offer
As part of the Architecture Department, the Architectural Designer supports the development of high-quality design and documentation for Mattamy Low Rise communities. This role contributes to all phases of the design process, from schematic design through construction documentation, combining architectural drafting and technical coordination with a strong focus on space planning, interior layouts, finishes, and homeowner experience.
You’ll work closely with external Architects, Structural Engineers, and Interior Design consultants, as well as internal teams including Marketing, Design Studio, Purchasing, Land, and Construction.
What you’ll do

Assist with interior space planning and exterior design including layout optimization, and coordination of finishes and materials for product lines and model homes.

Support development of kitchen, bathroom, and millwork layouts, ensuring functionality, buildability, and cost efficiency.

Produce plans and 3D drawings for internal design review and presentation purposes.

Participate in value engineering initiatives, balancing design, functionality, and budget constraints.

Coordinate with the Design Studio, Sales and Marketing and procurement teams to ensure design intent aligns with homeowner expectations, budgets and Mattamy brand standards.

Create, review, and revise detailed architectural and interior design drawings
-
Collaborate with external consultants to ensure alignment of architectural and interior design documentation, with the goal of producing fully coordinated drawing sets and supporting clash detection using Navisworks.

Review drawings for compliance with the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and internal standards.

Maintain version control and manage digital documentation across Revit, CAD, and Bluebeam environments according to Mattamy standards.

Prepare architectural and interior design memos, technical reports, and drawing packages.

Conduct site visits to confirm accuracy of drawings, review interior detailing, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Support project delivery and departmental goals under the direction of the Senior Manager of Architecture.
What y****ou b****ring
- Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related design field.
- 3–5 years of experience in residential interior design, architecture, or construction documentation.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp (or equivalent), Navisworks and Bluebeam; strong Revit modeling and drafting skills required.
- Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows and integration with interior design processes.
- Strong understanding of interior materials, finishes, millwork, and lighting coordination.
- Ability to produce accurate technical drawings and 3D visualizations that communicate design intent.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with Décor, Marketing, and Construction teams.
- Knowledge of OBC, zoning, and building permit documentation requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving capabilities.
Bonus points
- Professional certifications (NCIDQ, ARIDO).
- Experience in residential design, model home development, or production housing.
