The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000 which will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Position Summary

The IT Network Technician contributes deep expertise in Cisco networking technologies to the implementation, design and continuous improvement of the enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across LAN, WAN, and cloud-connected environments. The role acts as thepoint of contact for network support for the Support Teams, supports complex initiatives, troubleshoots critical network issues, and works in close coordination with the global network team and other IT teams to ensure aligned, efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Network Design & Implementation

  • Design, configure and deploy enterprise-level Cisco-based networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
  • Implement scalable and secure network architectures for data centers, branch offices, and remote environments.
  • Contribute to major network upgrades, migrations and infrastructure refresh projects.

Network Operation & Maintenance

  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and internet connectivity across multiple sites.
  • Implement and manage routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and layer 2 technologies (VLANs, STP, EtherChannel).
  • Conduct regular network performance analysis, tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Actively participate in network operations initiatives and related industrial IT topics, contributing expertise to deliver stable solutions for machine connectivity and production-critical processes.
  • Provide responsive and effective technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues.

Security & Compliance

  • Support the configuration and administration of Cisco ASA/Firepower/Security Appliances, including VPN, NAT, ACLs, and threat protection features.
  • Support security teams in implementing network segmentation and identity-based access, and contribute to alignment with standards such as ISO 27001, NIST or PCI-DSS.
  • Manage and monitor Cisco ISE, AAA, and 802.1X for network access control.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Create and maintain network documentation including topology maps, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
  • Develop network-focused training materials and contribute to the knowledge base to support ongoing operations, incident resolution, and project handovers.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Completed IT-related education/training or comparable professional experience.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in enterprise networking, with a strong Cisco technology focus.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches (Catalyst/Nexus), firewalls, access points and wireless controllers.

Certifications (Required/Preferred)

  • Required Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
  • Preferred Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Cisco DevNet or other Cisco speciality certificates (e.g., Wireless, Security) are considered an asset.

Technical Skills

  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, VPNs, Qos, multicast, and high availability protocols (HSRP/VRRP).
  • Familiar with Cisco DNA Center and SD-WAN solutions.
  • Experience with network automation tools and scripting (Phyton, Ansible) are considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRGT, ThousandEyes, NetFlow) and packet analyzers (Wireshark).
  • Experience with the Microsoft technology portfolio (e.g., Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365) and ServiceNow (ticketing,ITSM).

Qualifications

  • Experience working in multi-site/global organizations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Understanding of cloud networking (Azure/AWS Direct Connect/VPN) and hybrid cloud architecture.
  • Exposure to ITIL practices and service delivery frameworks.
