About the role

The Greater Victoria School District provides public educational services to over 20,000 students in the Greater Victoria Area. To provide this service, the District has an operating budget of $268 million and employs approximately 3,500 staff; which includes teachers, administrators, support staff, psychologists, speech and language pathologists and exempt managerial staff.

The Greater Victoria School District is currently seeking Trade Qualified Carpenters for continuing capital carpenter positions. The successful applicants will possess demonstrated experience in all aspects of the carpentry trade, including new construction, renovations, millwork, floor-laying, drywall and ceiling tile installation, concrete forming and sidewalk finishing.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a certificate of trade qualification as issued or recognized by the Province of BC.
  • Must be physically able to perform all duties as noted in the Job Characteristics.
  • Should possess a valid BC Driver's license.
  • Maintains a cooperative working relationship with other workers, suppliers, administrators, supervisors, teaching staff, students and the public.

Salary: $37.90 per hour plus a comprehensive benefits package upon successful completion of probation.

Hours: 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

Term: Continuing
