About Us

The Financial Shared Services Branch within the Provincial Comptroller’s Office at the Ministry of Finance is responsible for providing central financial services to ministries and other clients within the Government of Saskatchewan. Services include but are not limited to:

  • Support and configuration of the government-wide financial system
  • Accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed asset transactional processing
  • Payment services
  • Help desk support for financial system users

The Financial Reporting and Analytics Unit is responsible for providing a combination of business analysis, system configuration, procedure/process development, training, and Tier II help-desk support in relation to financial reporting and analytics.

The Ministry of Finance is responsible for the Government of Saskatchewan’s financial system. The new financial system being implemented is an Oracle Cloud based software that consists of Enterprise Resource Planning and Enterprise Performance Management modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management and Financial and Workforce Planning. The Financial Shared Services Branch, within the Provincial Comptroller’s Office of the Ministry of Finance, will provide configuration and support services to all financial users of the application.

The Financial Shared Services Branch is seeking a client service-focused individual to join its Business System Configuration and Support Team as a Configuration Analyst within the Financial Reporting and Analytics Unit.

This position is responsible for providing a combination of business analysis, system configuration, procedure/process development, training, and Tier II help-desk support in relation to financial reporting and analytics, including:

  • Analyzing and evaluating requirements, recommending solutions, creating and modifying reports and working closely with ministries in designing, developing and testing system changes to ensure continued accurate financial processing / reporting; and
  • Consulting and communicating with business experts in various modules of Oracle Financials (ie. GL, AP, AR, Projects, Fixed Assets), Security, Human Capital Management and Supply Chain to support integrations in order to generate required financial reports.

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills are required to evaluate and resolve complex systems issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential in order to develop and deliver a variety of documents such as business requirements, testing documentation, procedure guides, and training material to technical and non-technical clients.

Typically, the knowledge required for this position would be obtained through a post-secondary education in Computer Science and/or Business Administration. Work experience with financial applications and report development is required. Similar combinations of experience and education will also be considered.
