About the role
Securiguard is seeking a highly professional and detail-oriented Security Operations Centre (SOC) Officer to support a prestigious university's 24/7 campus safety operations. This position plays a critical role in monitoring security systems, coordinating responses, and ensuring the protection of students, staff, visitors, and university property.

Location: Chilliwack, BC
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor CCTV, alarms, access control platforms, and communication systems to identify security or safety concerns.
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch calls for service to campus security officers and emergency responders.
- Process access control requests including door unlocks, room access, contractor sign-ins, and after-hours approvals.
- Coordinate with campus Security, Facilities, and IT teams regarding maintenance issues, alerts, and operational needs.
- Document all incidents, system events, and daily activities in detailed reports and shift logs.
- Serve as the primary communication hub during emergencies, ensuring timely coordination and notifications.
- Maintain key control procedures, track equipment, and manage administrative tasks such as LostFound and work requests.
- Provide operational support to patrol officers including alarm follow-ups, building checks, and safety-related tasks.
- Conduct system testing, routine functionality checks, and follow up on outstanding issues to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Security Operations Centre, dispatch, or similar security environment is an asset.
- Strong multitasking skills and the ability to manage high volumes of information calmly and effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Technically proficient and comfortable working with multiple computer programs and monitoring tools.
- Proven ability to remain composed and decisive during emergencies or fast-paced situations.
- Valid BC Security Worker License - Required
- Occupational First Aid Level 2 (OFA 2) - Required
