YOUR NEW OPPORTUNITY Axiom Builders is seeking a Superintendent to support construction management on a large-scale mixed use concrete tower and podium project at the gateway to Downtown Vancouver. This 20+ story project will have over 300 rental units, indoor and outdoor amenities, 2 levels of parkade and a variety of commercial, retail and restaurant units. This project is breaking ground any day and offers an exciting opportunity to lead and direct a field and site team to manage the overall operations, site, quality and schedule of a construction project.

The ideal Superintendent candidate is a seasoned leader with hands-on experience in construction and a strong background in concrete high-rise residential or mixed-use projects. You are highly skilled in communicating effectively with the formwork team and other trade partners on-site. Your industry connections are robust, and you understand the critical role these relationships play in your long-term success at Axiom Builders.

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with Project Manager and regularly communicate updates such as field reports, safety inspections, staffing requirements and schedule updates;
• Oversee subcontractor performance with regards to safety and scope of work;
• Ensure sufficient staffing is provided to achieve safety, schedule and quality objectives;
• Identify and advise of design deficiencies, schedule interruptions or difficulties, and other project issues;
• Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, site instructions and change notices to ensure scopes, terms and conditions are properly executed;
• Supervise and direct trades and labourers through regular instruction, communication feedback;
• Support CSO and head office in ensuring all employees, subcontractors and contractors are adhering to the safety policies.

Skills & Experience

• At least five (5)+ years of experience as a superintendent for a general contractor on high-rise concrete projects;
• Exceptional technical knowledge and can translate that to mentorship, efficiency and running a clean and safe construction site;
• Excellent record of leading a project from pre-construction to completion;
• Ability to build relationships with not only the field staff, but also clients and other external stakeholders;
• Ability and proven experience to lead and motivate site crew of various sizes and scopes;
• Proven success in influencing a culture of positivity, ownership and reliability on site.

The base salary range for this role is $130,000 to $150,000, adjusted for experience, plus a competitive bonus program. During the interview process, let’s talk to get the right fit for your experience level.
