Position Overview:
Finning Canada is looking to hire an Identity and Access Management (IAM) Architect—a strategic, forward‑thinking technical leader who will shape the future of how our people and systems securely connect. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of Finning’s enterprise IAM ecosystem in partnership with the IAM Service Manager. Your work will span identity governance, account provisioning, single sign‑on, multi‑factor authentication, conditional access, and privileged account management—mission‑critical capabilities that keep our global operations secure and running smoothly.
As a trusted advisor, you will collaborate with the broader Architecture team, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to define and evolve IAM policies, standards, and technology solutions. You’ll guide technical decisions, champion continuous improvement, and build a forward‑looking IAM roadmap that aligns with business needs and industry best practices. You will also develop advanced IAM components, create clear documentation, and equip operational teams through training and knowledge sharing.
Finning is seeking a candidate with strong hands‑on experience in identity management technologies, directories, web access management, single sign‑on, privileged identity management, multi‑factor authentication, and cloud IAM platforms. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and information security certifications are valuable assets as well.

For this position, the expected salary range is between $125,000 and $140,000 annually. This range reflects our commitment to providing competitive compensation that aligns with industry standards and your qualifications.

Job Description:
Major Job Functions:
- Initiate and/or participate in technology projects.
- Oversee or consult on business projects.
- Coordinate with the IAM team with roadmap, solution design, implementation, and operational planning activities that align with IAM objectives.
- Collaborate with operations teams for contract management, monitoring, and optimization.
- Evaluate technology industry and market trends determining the impact of technology changes on user experience.
- Manage projects when PMs are not assigned – work within Project governance.
- Lead design sessions with Finning personnel as well as external parties.
- Assist as needed on smaller operational initiatives and provide support during major incidents
Accountabilities:
- Design of service offerings and standard configurations.
- Accountable for alignment of Finning’s global end to end design and solution selection related to Identity and Access Management and the long-term objectives of IAM.
- Ensure all relevant Architecture and Infrastructure documentation is up to date and accurate.
- Tier 3.5 escalation support for area of responsibility
- Provide recommendations on technology to meet business and technical objectives.
- Identify deficiencies in current designs and planned changes; recommend solutions for improvement.
- Assist with technology governance activities.
Qualifications:
- Professional certifications or equivalent experience from relevant vendors
- 5 years or more experience working in an enterprise environment
- 3 years or more architecture solutions within an enterprise organization
- Business Analysis experience working directly with the business to understand their requirements
- Broad knowledge of Desktop and mobile operating systems including Windows, MacOS, IOS and Android
- Strong background of producing high quality documentation and solution artefacts.
- Demonstrated experience with designing and successfully delivering solutions, including supporting the production of proposals, SoW’s, high-level designs, RFP responses, roadmaps and strategies.
- Demonstrated experience with IAM, PAM and IGA solutions and frameworks leveraging EntraID, Active Directory, Sailpoint IdentityIQ, and Delinea Secret Server
- Understanding of cloud architectures and strategy (public, private, and hybrid).
- Demonstrated architecture and solution implementation success in a global enterprise environment.
