Purpose of the Role

Windsor Essex CHC delivers a summer recreation program in 4 of our family communities located in geared to income neighborhoods across Windsor. We are currently seeking Temporary/Full Time Administrative Coordinator to employ to help with the operation of our Summer Recreational Program. The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for the wellbeing and safety of all staff, campers and volunteers in all areas located within Windsor. The Administrative coordinator will be working closely with the Sr. Manager of Community Development and Engagement to execute the program. This position will be an active team member and will be expected to contribute in all program areas at all site locations.

Responsibilities

The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities of this job. The tasks and the time spent performing each task may vary as business needs require. Windsor Essex Community Housing Corporation (WECHC) maintains the right to modify job duties and responsibilities at its discretion.

  • Manage the summer Recreation budget; includes purchasing, ordering, balancing and allocating budgetary expenses throughout the summer.
  • Develop and implement orientation and training schedule in partnership with site coordinators.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection Camp Coordinators and Camp Counselors
  • Assist coordinators in completing final report; including budget completion and statistical information.
  • Maintain and develop new positive community partnerships that align with CHC mission and vision.
  • Review all mileage logs and time and attendance reporting
  • Problem solve and make quick, precise decisions.
  • Provide leadership and role modelling to staff and campers.
  • Employ standard health practices, provide first aid as needed.
  • Assist in the development and scheduling of recreational activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • First Aid/CPR are considered an asset
  • Prior work or volunteer experience in programs for children
  • Possession of a valid Class G Driver's License and access to a vehicle for work related purposes is required.

L****anguages:

  • English – additional languages are considered an asset

S****ecurity and Safety:

  • If 18 years of age or older, a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check must be completed prior to the first day of employment.
