About the role

What you’ll do

The key objective of this position is to develop and execute brand and seasonal marketing programs and plans to meet financial targets and increase profitability of the supported businesses (Christmas, Back to School, and Hudson Bay Stripes Enterprise). Reporting to a Strategic Marketing Manager, the successful candidate will have strong digital know-how and play an important role in developing and executing marketing strategies and plans that support annual targets and long-term strategies. The AMM would also be the key point person for project leading, updating and communicating the plans to all key internal and agency stakeholders. Your ability to work with and influence others will be a key measure of success.

  • Foster strong relationships and collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to ensure thorough understanding of business goals, opportunities, challenges and develop marketing plans that balance customer need with business goals. Establish clear campaign targets aligned to deliver business goals.
  • Assist in the development of annual marketing plans by developing financial plans and annual strategies for the business that link to defined strategy objectives and guidelines.
  • Plan and execute complex, multi-channel marketing programs that roll-up to an integrated marketing plan by combining an in-depth understanding of the business with strong consumer insights.
  • Craft integrated creative and media briefs that inspire partner agencies and creative/production vendors to develop breakthrough creative and best in class, award-winning MarComm campaigns that deliver on brand and business objectives. Bring forward innovation opportunities.
  • Monitor, measure and analyze the impact of marketing programs and enhancement efforts. Manage budget for assigned programs.
  • Provide direction and guidance to Specialists and/or Co-ops in managing tasks/activities of the assigned projects, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, understanding of consumer trends, competitive & market analysis and potential linkages to other CTC SBUs to ensure the business is kept abreast of competitive marketing initiatives
  • Manage relationships to ensure that the work meets schedule, quality and budgetary expectations
  • Manage due diligence and approvals required to ensure compliant, legally approved communications in market

What you bring

  • Minimum of 5 years’ related marketing experience
  • Post secondary education in related field
  • Creative acumen and proven ability to manage the creative process when developing new and effective marketing programs
  • Strong customer focus and business acumen with the ability to manage and track an operating budget
  • Strong project management and negotiation skills, superior problem solving and analytical skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter, who can think creatively and has the ability to analyze and prioritize to meet business needs
  • Superior influencing and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to interact collaboratively with other team members
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and detail oriented
  • Proficient in MS Office
