Salary: $6,536 – 6,807 – 7,086 – 7,383 – 7,691/month (2024 Rates)

Schedule: 80 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

This position works in the Facilities Management – Recreation Facilities organizational unit. This is supervisory, operational and technical work involving building and equipment, operations, maintenance and repair, and janitorial tasks in a multi-purpose recreation facility and outdoor pools. This position plans, assigns, supervises and participates in the work of a moderate sized team engaged in building and equipment routine maintenance and minor repair, operational and janitorial tasks. In addition, the work involves inspecting the facility and equipment to ensure operational requirements are met in order to identify potential problems and implement corrective action, within established guidelines; identifying and recommending plant modifications or equipment additions that will improve operations; developing, implementing and maintaining preventive maintenance; schedules; obtaining the services of private contractors to perform minor repairs and, within established guidelines, purchasing materials and supplies required by subordinates. The successful candidate exercises considerable independence of judgement and action in performing the work, including re-arranging work priorities to accommodate emergency situations. The more complex problems, need for major repairs or system changes are discussed with a superior who reviews work performance in terms of attainment of desired objectives, effectiveness of services provided and conformance to established practices and procedures. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications include completion of Grade 12 supplemented by technical courses related to the work, plus considerable related experience including some supervisory experience, or, an equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid Pool Operator’s Certificate – Level 1 and Level 2, and Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia are required.
