The opportunity:

We’re hiring a Scientific Writing Coordinator to join our clinical research team. This role is ideal for a organized and detail-oriented scientific writer who thrives at the intersection of research, data, and communication. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with researchers, statisticians, and clinical research teams to develop high-quality scientific content—including manuscripts, grant applications, presentations, and patient-facing materials. You’ll play a key role in supporting the full publication cycle, from concept to peer review, and ensure that all scientific outputs meet rigorous academic, regulatory, and ethical standards.

We’re looking for someone with a PhD or Masters with equivalent experience in a related field, preferably with training in an internal medicine specialty such as critical care, hematology, or infectious disease. Strong academic writing skills, a proven publication record, and hands-on experience in clinical research and trials are essential. The role requires excellent organizational abilities, a strong understanding of quantitative data interpretation, and the capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:

  • PhD in related study area with three years directly related experience (preferred), or
  • Master's degree in related study area with five years directly related experience.
  • Specialized training in internal medicine specialty (critical care, hematology, infectious disease) is an asset.
  • Experience conducting research in clinical trials is required.
  • Experience with clinical research is required
  • Extensive experience writing academic manuscripts and track record of publications is required.
  • Experience working with confidential data required.
  • Prior experience engaging with stakeholders is an asset.
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Proficiency in the English language is required.
  • Ability to lead all phases of academic publication development, writing, and submission is required.
  • Strong academic writing abilities is required.
  • Strong skillset related to clinical research is required.
  • Strong skillset related to quantitative data analysis techniques and interpretation is required.
  • Ability to write research protocols and manuscripts independently is required.
  • Ability to engage effectively with scientific personnel, take general research constructs, and operationalize them into tangible plans is required.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects at once is required.
  • Ability to conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings is required.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a variety of mediums is required.
  • Ability to independently manage time and workload to work within time constraints is required.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team is required.
  • Ability to keep abreast of developments in the areas of expertise is required.
  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders and decision makers is required.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new techniques is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required.
  • Proficiency with video teleconferencing technology (e.g. Zoom, Teams) is required.
  • A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
