We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and service-focused Breakfast Server to join our Food & Beverage team at the Cambridge Suites Hotel Halifax. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating memorable guest experiences, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service.
As a Breakfast Server, you will play an important role in ensuring our guests start their day with a positive dining experience. You will provide attentive service, maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that encourages guests to return.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with a warm and professional demeanor while providing personalized service.
- Build rapport with guests by recognizing returning patrons and creating memorable dining experiences.
- Take and accurately process food and beverage orders for à la carte menu items, pre-set meals, and buffet service.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by communicating special requests and dietary requirements to kitchen staff.
- Monitor food quality and promptly address any concerns to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Prepare for each meal period by stocking supplies, organizing workstations, and ensuring service areas are fully equipped.
- Set, clear, clean, and reset dining tables efficiently and professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness of menus, condiment stations, glassware, cutlery, service equipment, and dining areas.
- Assist with seating guests and providing room service when required.
- Promote hotel dining offerings, amenities, and special features to guests when appropriate.
- Respond professionally and effectively to guest concerns, working to resolve issues and exceed expectations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming restaurant environment at all times.
- Follow all hotel safety policies, emergency procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by hotel management.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous restaurant, food service, or hospitality experience is considered an asset.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining high service standards.
- Team-oriented with a positive and cooperative attitude.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing exceptional guest experiences.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Food Handler Certification is considered an asset.
