RWDI’s Guelph office is seeking prospective candidates to join the Source team as aCivil Engineering Technologist. This posting represents a currently available permanent full-time role.

##Key Responsibilities

The role includes but is not limited to:

  • Lead field project teams and perform on-site stack testing and source emissions monitoring in accordance with federal and regional regulatory methods (e.g., EPA Reference Methods, ECCC).
  • Plan assigned field deployments, including crew logistics, equipment preparation, and implementation of safety procedures.
  • Analyze collected emissions data and ensure strict adherence to QA/QC protocols throughout testing and reporting.
  • Serve as a technical liaison with clients, regulators, and internal teams to communicate project scope, progress, and findings.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate analytical and sampling equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Support project scoping, scheduling, and budgeting in collaboration with project managers and senior leadership.
  • Stay current with evolving environmental regulations and industry best practices.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, including regulatory documentation, emissions data summaries, and detailed field observations.
  • Train, mentor, and oversee junior field technicians and new team members on project assignments.
  • Provide guidance, support, and feedback to team members to enhance performance and professional development.
  • Ensure team members complete assigned project-related responsibilities.
  • Assess and address health and safety risks to maintain a safe working environment.

##Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of source testing experience
  • Strong computer, analytical and technical “hands-on” skills
  • An aptitude for practical problem solving
  • Extensive Field/Site experience
  • QSTI certification (or Equivalent)
  • Knowledge of Ontario and US EPA stack testing methods is an asset
  • A valid driver’s licence

Candidates should also possess:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong people and team skills as well as being highly motivated
  • An ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with no supervision
  • Exceptional organizational capabilities, coordination and consultation skills
  • Willingness to travel and to work long hours, evenings, weekends (including Sundays)
  • The ability to perform manual tasks and be physically fit with the ability to perform heavy lifting.
  • Ability to work on several projects at once and proven ability to successfully meet deadlines
  • Aptitude for attention to detail to ensure a high degree of quality assurance and quality control
