The location in Skookumchuck, British Columbia, Canada, is seeking talent to fill the position of Maintenance Planner. This job is full-time permanent.

Under the general direction of the Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent, the Mechanical Maintenance Planner is responsible for the safe planning of manpower, tools, equipment and materials for regular and shutdown maintenance for Skookumchuck Pulp Inc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures all mechanical maintenance work orders and jobs are well planned, all safety policies and procedures followed, trades identified, or services (scaffolding, non-destructive testing, motoer removal, motor handover, etc), materials/tools prepared, and duration of tasks accurately and realistically defined and included on the work order.
  • Inspects problem areas requiring repair work to determine what’s wrong, location, access issues, criticality, and whether the expertise to complete repairs exists internally or if outside assistance is required.
  • Ensures all required documentation is complete and up to date in the SAP system and any manual systems, ensures all files are updated as needed, and distributes documentation as required.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve work through maintenance effectiveness / systems, equipment upgrades, and application of new technology.
  • Ensures that the work order contains a proper description or that a prepared file is linked to the work order
  • Informs operations superintendent of the operations specific requirements for carrying out a job (cleaning, positioning of equipment, etc)

Skills and Qualifications

  • Trade ticket or post-secondary degree diploma in mechanical or electrical or equivalent work eperience
  • Experience in estimating and planning work projects
  • Demonstrated ability to write and provide simple, accurate instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine & process drawings and have the ability to sketch or redline existing drawings
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Good organization, planning, math, computer, and communication skills

Salary Range - 90,000-110,000 per annum
