An Overview Of Your Future Role At BBA You'll join our team of about 20 turbine-generator specialists, working on hydroelectric projects across Canada. You’ll be based at our Mont-Saint-Hilaire or Québec City office. You’ll play a key role in all phases of engineering projects, ensuring exceptional technical quality of deliverables. Occasional site visits will also be part of your responsibilities. You’ll identify and develop new business opportunities as they arise. Finally, you’ll serve as mentor to support the growth of our Hydropower team.

- Manage and perform various mechanical projects for turbines, generators, mechanical speed governors, bearing lubrication and cooling, balancing and alignment of rotating parts, hydromechanical valves and balance of plant for refurbishment projects and new hydroelectric powerplants / pumped storage projects
- Play a leading role in client communications for your mandates
- Be a key team member in executing small to major modernization or new installation projects
- Solve complex problems related to mechanical components in hydroelectric power plants
- Identify, plan and organize client needs to assess the condition of their units and conduct power upgrade studies (turbines and generators)
- Lead onsite inspections, diagnostics, commissioning and testing
- Represent your area of expertise and promote it to potential clients and specialized groups in the hydropower sector
- Mentor and coach junior engineers by actively sharing your knowledge and encouraging skill development within the team
- Foster a workplace culture that promotes having fun while delivering high-quality professional work

Overview Of Job Requirements
- University degree in mechanical engineering
- From 5 to 14 years of relevant experience in the hydropower sector
- Relevant experience with inspections, condition assessments, installation, commissioning and testing
- Must be a registered P.Eng. with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or another Canadian province
- Driver’s licence
- Niveau d’anglais intermédiaire afin de favoriser une bonne collaboration avec les bureaux de BBA et/ou les clients situés dans les provinces canadiennes anglophones et à l’international. La fréquence d’utilisation de l’anglais peut fluctuer d’occasionnelle à quotidienne en fonction des projets en cours
