The Ministry of Justice is seeking a confident and positive role model to manage the overall operations of living units at the Pine Grove Correctional Centre in Prince Albert.

As Assistant Deputy Director of Programs and one of the key members of the Correction Division’s management team, the successful candidate will provide leadership and direction with respect to human resources, program development and delivery, and security management. Along with supervising staff, as the successful candidate, you will plan, develop, implement and evaluate programs, policies, procedures and other matters impacting the Centre's operations related to offender programs, integrated case management, and custodial issues. You will maintain and ensure community services with approved sponsors are undertaken, and will establish ongoing community-based services, employment, and rapport with stakeholders.

As a highly motivated professional, you will commit yourself to teamwork and collaboration. You will develop and maintain professional partnerships and relationships and provide integrated services with your client region, which includes client families, victims, and provincial and federal agencies such as Health, Social Services, Mental Health, police and RCMP services. As well, you will partner with First Nation’s Communities and their respective justice communities. You will develop inter-ministerial, inter-agency and community partnerships based on respect and collaborative responsibility.

To be considered for this position, you will have knowledge of The Correctional Services Act and Regulations, Corrections key challenges and strategies; policies, procedures and programs; knowledge of criminogenic factors and their relationship to offender case management; and knowledge of human behaviours, interpersonal communications and counseling methodologies within an institutional corrections environment.

To qualify, you would typically have a degree in the social sciences or equivalent and supervisory experience in an institutional corrections environment.
