Job Description Summary The BWRX-300 Oshawa Site Engineering Manager is pivotal in leading GVH Engineering efforts that support DNNP-1 Site readiness, construction, and commissioning efforts. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to ensure Site Engineering support excellence.
Job Description Roles and Responsibilities
- Report solid line to the Senior Manager Plant Integration Engineering.
- Own and be accountable for overseeing the GVH Site Engineering organization in supporting DNNP-1 construction, and commissioning efforts. This scope includes GVH oversight of construction pre-requisites, component testing, preoperational testing and startup testing.
- Serve as the GVH Engineering manager and primary point of contact and Design Authority for the GVH Site Engineering Office at DNNP-1.
- Own the Engineering technical component of the field change process from creation through completion of implementation.
- Own the development of GVH engineering specifications, acceptance criteria, and procedures.
- Provide technical and managerial leadership for a diverse engineering team.
- Inspire, hire, coach and ensure the development of the team’s technical and leadership talent/depth.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationship with other internal engineering team managers, business leaders, project managers and stakeholders.
- Interface with external partners, customers, and other applicable country specific regulatory agencies, as required to resolve technical issues.
- Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GVH.
- Insure the configuration management of the GVH design as it is issued to the field.
- Support GVH initiatives, process improvement and simplification.
- Support GVH Nuclear Energy quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, initiating Condition Reports, and responding to Corrective Actions.
- Ensure adherence to GVH’s standards for nuclear safety and compliance
- Streamline, integrate and develop team technical information sharing processes across GVH and its partners to better support business through application of Lean principles.
- Partner with business teams and present product/program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior leads across GVH.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline or similar.
- Minimum 8 years direct experience managing an Engineering team or similar.
- Professional Engineers of Ontario (Canada) license holder.
Eligibility Requirements
- For Canada GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening.
- This position will report onsite to the Darlington location in Oshawa 5 days a week.

- Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business.
- Demonstrated Site, New Construction, or Startup engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional engineering teams and coordinating complex projects.
- Proven expertise in engineering change management processes and tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Problem solving skills.
- Experience working in the nuclear energy industry.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple teams and adapt to fast-paced environments.
