**Specific Position Information:**The successful applicant will be required to provide a current Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check.
Hours per week and Schedule of Work(Hours and Schedule of work are subject to change in accordance with Article 19): 35 hours per week. Evenings and Saturdays required. Plus seven [7] variable hours.
**PWP-A:**This permanent full-time position will be scheduled in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in Letter of Agreement #1. This posting indicates that the schedule requires work on alternate Saturdays. The successful candidate for this position may be required to work in any location in the Area or Division in addition to the home location.
Job Summary:
To provide customer service in a branch.
Duties:
Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, the position is responsible for:
Leadership Functions:
- service delivery in the absence of the designated supervisor
- participating in implementing training programs
- selects and trains Page staff as delegated
- provides verbal input to performance appraisals of staff
Service Functions:

providing information services
-
planning, conducting and evaluating individual programs and events
-
participating in community outreach
-
performing circulation functions
-
performing database maintenance functions
-
weeding under system guidelines
-
performing various duties at the branch, area and system level in special areas of expertise
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma from a Library Technicians course from a community college or similar institution or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience
- Understanding and appreciation of the philosophy of public service to all, in accordance with human rights legislation and the principles of equity and access in the delivery of library service
- Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to provide information services to all age groups
- Ability to do outreach
- Ability to plan, conduct and evaluate programs and events
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and to use problem-solving skills
