Your Role And Responsibilities As a Federal Consulting Intern, you will help IBM solve challenging business problems, capitalize on market opportunities, and understand leading technologies and the impact they can have on traditional business processes. If you see yourself as an original thinker who wants to drive progress, grow your network, and further your career, a Consulting Internship role is for you. In this role, you may be responsible for:

  • Learning and adopting consulting skills and business knowledge to effectively integrate packaged technology into the client's business environment.
  • Translating business needs into business requirements and participating in the production of solutions to drive business value.
  • Working to refine or design their business strategy while working in an agile collaborative environment These positions are anticipated to be 4-month terms January 2026.

Preferred Education Bachelor's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • Outcome focused, possessing a high level of resilience, you demonstrate the flexibility and resolve needed to achieve success a across a broad range of consultative contexts
  • Exceptional quantitative and qualitative analysis skills and ability to derive recommendations informed by data and insights and experience mapping capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment, able to build direct working relationships across all levels of the IBM and client teams

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

  • Demonstrates a strong drive to tackle challenges, improve results, and innovate while understanding diverse perspectives
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively in a high-pressure environment
  • Proven academic success and motivation, with exceptional communication and storytelling abilities for conveying complex information clearly.
