We Invite Applications For The Position Of

  • We invite applications for position of Summer Student to work during May to August in the grounds department. Work occurs Monday through Friday, day shifts, 40 hours per week. The current rate of pay is $26.18 per hour plus 16.3% in lieu of benefits. Positions start May 4, 2026 and ends August 28, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating power mowing equipment, leaf blowers, and other landscaping tools
  • Towing and maneuvering trailers using pickup trucks
  • Cleaning up debris, including leaves, branches, and litter, to maintain clean and safe grounds
  • Assisting with general lawn care, such as aerating, edging, weeding, and watering
  • Planting, pruning, and maintaining trees, shrubs, and flower beds
  • Supporting special projects related to grounds maintenance and outdoor facility improvements
  • Assist grounds personnel with various work orders and maintenance tasks
  • Weed and trim grass around school grounds (grass crew)
  • Clean up front areas of schools to maintain a tidy appearance
  • Assist in deliveries as needed

Summer Student Hiring Criteria

  • Applicants must provide proof of enrollment at a recognized college/university educational institution
  • Students must supply their own safety boots; all other required safety equipment will be provided
  • A valid driver's license is required (N category is acceptable)

This role is ideal for students looking for hands-on experience in outdoor maintenance, landscaping, and grounds keeping. Successful candidates should enjoy working as part of a team and take pride in maintaining clean and well-kept outdoor spaces.
