Position: Warehouse Shift Supervisor
Afternoon Shift: Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 11:00pm; hours may vary.
JOB PURPOSE
The Operations Shift Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of our cold storage facility. Reporting directly to the Senior Supervisor, this position is responsible for overseeing shift operations, balancing resources, managing personnel, and ensuring customer specifications and quality control standards are met. The Shift Supervisor will lead by example, ensuring safety, productivity, and operational excellence while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
REQUIRMENTS
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and procedural documents.
- Basic math and computer skills, including experience with inventory management systems and reporting.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members, lead hands, supervisors, and customers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong initiative and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changing workloads while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Punctual and reliable, with the ability to meet time-sensitive operational deadlines.
- Current or willingness to obtain First Aid Level 2 (OFA2) certification.
- Proven experience operating warehouse equipment, such as power jacks and counterbalanced rider trucks, with certification.
- High regard for health and safety, with a focus on compliance with all safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to work in a cooler/freezer environment for extended periods.
- Ability to delegate tasks and organize manpower according to work volume.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Mobile Equipment Certification (e.g., forklift, pallet jacks).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the cold storage facility, ensuring smooth workflows and adherence to schedules.
- Lead, train, and motivate team members to achieve operational goals. Provide guidance and discipline when necessary.
- Enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Ensure that all employees use the appropriate safety equipment and follow safe work practices.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of trailers, ensure proper staging of outgoing shipments, and verify the receipt of incoming goods, ensuring all documentation is accurate.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing products for quality issues such as damages or contamination and document findings. Ensure products are stored correctly in the freezer/cooler.
- Supervise sanitation tasks to maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring compliance with health standards.
- Provide training and ongoing development for new and existing staff. Ensure all team members are up to date on required certifications and operational procedures.
- Complete necessary paperwork, including shipping/receiving logs and incident reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Lead investigations into accidents, product damage, unsafe conditions, or equipment failures, ensuring thorough documentation and corrective actions.
- Organize and allocate manpower to match workload demands, ensuring efficient operation during busy and quiet times.
- Monitor employee performance, providing constructive feedback, coaching, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and make timely decisions to resolve operational issues as they arise.
- Regularly communicate with the Operations Manager or Senior Supervisor regarding shift performance, issues, and recommendations for improvement.
- Contribute to process improvements and identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and safety.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
