Our Volkswagen Downtown Toronto dealership is looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our amazing team!
Job Purpose
The Accounting Clerk performs accounting-related tasks utilizing knowledge of the entire accounting cycle. This position performs accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
Core Accountabilities
- Prepare daily cash reporting and bank deposit
- Monitor cash and credit clearing accounts daily
- Cap all receivable payments after cash report posting
- Receipt deposits or payments when required
- Perform various reconciliations including: parts manufacture statement, floor plan and warranty payments
- Prepare cheques as required and monthly payable cheque run reconciled to vendor statements
- Follow up on all outstanding A/R invoices
- Distribute all invoices received to respective department managers for authorization
- Post invoices through CDK accounting system
- Review schedules and identify potential discrepancies
- Participate in monthly closing
- Administrative filing
- Monitor and maintain office supplies
- Perform other tasks based on management requirements and instructions
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of related industry experience.
- Background in the automotive or related industry is an asset.
- College Diploma or University Degree.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet deadlines.
- Proficient with CDK system (if possible) ability to operate PC-based software, e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Strong attention to detail.
