This role supports the preparation and distribution of accurate and compliant financial reports, both actuals and budgets, and contributes to organizational improvement through project work and key initiatives. Responsibilities
Support the development, analysis, and reporting of financial and operational results, including profitability and performance metrics.
Lead or contribute to projects that improve efficiency, strengthen margins, and support the organization’s long-term vision and effectiveness.
Collaborate with department managers to analyze budgets, forecasts, and actual results.
Perform general ledger duties, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and process improvements.
Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
Provide occasional support to payroll functions and related reporting.
Assist in preparing year-end audit documentation and financial schedules.
Complete government and industry filings and statistical surveys accurately and on time.
Support the development and maintenance of internal controls and safeguarding procedures.
Collaborate with the Finance Supervisor and Director of Finance to update financial policies and procedures.
Maintain awareness of regulatory and accounting changes relevant to the organization.
Qualifications
Post-secondary degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA designation or equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
Strong understanding of computerized accounting systems (preferably Sage 300) and familiarity with point-of-sale platforms.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and clearly convey financial information to non-financial staff.
Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities supported by sound judgement.
Ability to interpret, apply, and uphold company policies and procedures with integrity and professionalism.
Where We Are
Castle Mountain Resort is located at the end of Highway 774, near Pincher Creek, AB. This is a remote work location with no mobile coverage or public transit. There is a communal living Staff Accommodation building on-site for new and returning staff. More information on our location and our resort can be found at skicastle.ca

Primarily remote, with occasional on-site attendance as required. Regional candidates preferred.
Regular use of a computer and related peripherals requiring manual dexterity.
Occasional light lifting or movement of items up to 10 lbs when on-site.

About Castle Mountain Resort Inc.
Castle Mountain Resort (CMR) is Alberta's most authentic mountain experience. The resort, occupying an exceptionally beautiful, and snowy, location in the Westcastle Valley of the Southwestern Alberta Rocky Mountains, is located 2.5 hours southwest of Calgary. Castle is the only resort in Alberta with drive-to, ski-in/ski-out accommodations. The resort is well known for the best continuous fall-line terrain in Canada and no shortage of powder (900 cm's annually). There is also miles upon miles of snowmobile trails leaving from the resort exploring the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Guided Snow Shoe Tours on mountain, perfect for Après Ski adventures. There is even a fantastic Cross Country Ski network at our doorstep and a lifetime of backcountry opportunities for the more adventurous.
In the summer Castle Mountain is the perfect venue for an intimate mountain getaway wedding. The T-Bar Pub and Grub is also open on weekends throughout the summer. There are numerous hiking trails and adventures to explore in Castle Provincial and Wildland Parks which surround Castle Mountain Resort.
