Medical Office Assistant (MOA)
Location: Chilliwack Job Type: Full-Time Start Date: As soon as possible
Schedule
- Monday ? Thursday: 8:30 AM ? 4:30 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM ? 2:00 PM
An established family physician clinic in Chilliwack is seeking a professional, experienced, and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside six physicians and allied health professionals in a fast-paced and collaborative healthcare environment. This position offers opportunities for advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and register patients while accurately collecting demographic and health information
- Schedule appointments and manage patient bookings efficiently
- Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMRs)
- Provide administrative and clinical support to physicians and healthcare providers as needed
- Respond to patient inquiries by phone, email, and in person with exceptional customer service
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and diagnostic services accurately and efficiently
- Assist with EMR, computer, and technical management
- Help manage clinic inventory and supplies to support smooth daily operations
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize workflow and patient experience
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security of patient information
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned by clinic management
Qualifications & Skills
- Completion of a recognized MOA program or equivalent professional experience
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems; experience with Oscar EMR is considered an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare setting while maintaining professionalism and accuracy
- High level of discretion and commitment to patient confidentiality
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and patient-focused attitude
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving clinic needs and responsibilities
- Website management experience an asset.
- Understanding of medical terminology and privacy regulations (PHIPA/FIPPA)
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage: $24/hour (Adjustments made based on experience)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Extended health benefits available after 3 months
