ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is responsible for the implementation of new systems, supporting existing systems and overall system adoption and usage. Also responsible for performance tuning of existing systems and supporting integration with other applications. Leads and participates in project teams and provides guidance. Recommends and develops solution alternatives. Works in consultation with department technology resources and implementation teams to ensure objectives, business/regulatory compliance needs are met.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Collaborates/works with partners and follows the corporate strategic leadership, planning and direction related to this function to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and direction.
- Research new methodologies, systems, software implementation frameworks, and new hardware training requirements including evaluating, performing systems reviews; makes recommendations to project teams and management on proper implementation for realization of business needs.
- Facilitates systems development and implementation activities, including preparation of user requirements, definition and systems analysis and engages with stakeholders on design details and implementation planning.
- Participates in the development, integration, documentation, implementation, maintenance and support of business systems and associated technologies.
- Liaises with staff for the design and implementation of various applications, and database changes to meet business needs.
- Advises on design and build of application programming interfaces as well as department systems and related systems administrative functions.
- Supports the communication, administration and implementation of software and hardware upgrades in consultation with partners.
- Manages and acts as the interface between business units and IT/systems support.
- Coordinates and conducts activities as required as well as oversees data collection to support business systems changes, upgrades, and updates.
- Gathers data related design and application workflow and works with stakeholders to recommend system prototypes for user consultation.
- Conducts business impact assessments for existing business processes, systems, and solutions.
- Design and execute communication plans to keep stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Monitor user feedback, and data required in providing insights and improvement recommendations.
• Performs other duties as assigned, in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Sciences or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five (5) years’ of demonstrated hands-on experience deploying and implementing IT systems including project implementation and deployment.
- Experience in software development/deployment, Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, application implementation.
- Experience in software support, development, and implementation in a development and operations environment that supports agile software delivery approach.
- Experience in project implementation analysis and support in data management systems, data integrity and security as it relates to department business systems.
- Demonstrated ability in the Region’s leadership/and core competencies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to connect with a range of internal and external stakeholders while focusing on fostering collaborative work relationships.
- Strong communication, influencing and presentation skills with a strong customer focus.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of systems development life cycle processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of related industry, systems, and applications.
- Knowledge and skills in virtual platforms and MS Office Suite including the use of virtual platforms.
