The District of Kent, located in the picturesque Eastern Fraser Valley, is offering an exciting opportunity in our Development Services Department for a Planner 1 or a Planner 2.
These key roles perform a variety of duties, including (but not limited to) the:

Co-ordination, processing, and review of subdivision and development applications.

Researching and presenting of departmental data.

Consolidating and maintaining records, maps, charts, graphs, and other material for interpretation.

Development of new and improved guidelines, procedures, policies, and bylaws.

Preparation of maps and reports varying in degree of complexity.
-
Interpretation and application of zoning and other bylaws.
-
Conducting research for subdivision and development related requests.
-
Responding to inquiries from members of the pubic, contractors, developers, and other agencies.

When directed, presenting reports to Council and Committees of Council.
Requirements include: Planner 1 Graduate of a two-year post-secondary diploma program in planning, geography, or related discipline combined with two years of related planning experience.
Planner 2 Degree in planning, geography, or a related discipline combined with three years of related planning experience, or a two-year post-secondary diploma program (as above) with five years of related planning experience.
The 2025 post-probationary wage rate for these CUPE Local 458 bargaining unit positions is $45.10 per hour (Planner 1) and $51.73 per hour (Planner 2) plus a comprehensive benefit package.
