Job Summary
The Business Analyst - Commercial & Industrial serves as a key business partner, supporting through advanced analytics and actionable insights. The Business Analyst - Commercial & Industrial independently analyzes commercial and financial data to improve sales performance, profitability, and operational effectiveness. Working closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, and other cross-functional partners, this position plays an integral role in forecasting, performance management, and strategic planning initiatives. The Business Analyst - Commercial & Industrial requires a strong analytical foundation, sound business judgment, and the ability to influence decision-making through data-driven insights.
Essential Job Functions*
- Independently analyze sales performance, customer trends, pricing structures, and profitability across Commercial & Industrial accounts.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and KPIs that track performance against business plans and targets.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis including margin analysis, variance analysis, and scenario modeling.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and provide proactive, data-backed recommendations to business leaders.
- Translate complex datasets and analyses into clear, concise, and actionable insights for executive and operational audiences.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders on cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Design, automate, and continuously improve Excel-based analytical tools and recurring reporting solutions.
- Support data accuracy, reporting consistency, and continuous improvement of analytical processes.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders by applying analytical expertise and business acumen to decision-making.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in a Business Analyst, Financial Analyst, or similar analytical role.
- Experience supporting commercial, sales, operations, or finance functions preferred.
- Demonstrated experience developing dashboards, KPIs, and automated reports.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and deliver insights with minimal supervision.
Competencies – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience interpreting complex datasets.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., advanced formulas, PivotTables, Power Query); Power BI or similar BI tools preferred.
- Solid understanding of financial concepts including forecasting, margins, and profitability drivers.
- Ability to clearly communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining a strategic, big-picture perspective.
- Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

The targeted salary range for this role is around $70k to $80k.
