Role Description The Cyber Security Instructor is a part-time position based at the Brampton, ON campus. The instructor will deliver engaging classroom instruction in core areas of cybersecurity, including network security, application security, information security, and malware analysis. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and teaching materials, presenting lectures and demonstrations, guiding learners through labs and hands-on exercises, and assessing performance through assignments, quizzes, and exams. The role also involves mentoring learners, providing constructive feedback, maintaining accurate records of attendance and grades, and collaborating with academic staff to keep course content current with industry trends and best practices. The instructor is expected to support a safe, inclusive learning environment and follow college policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Strong expertise in Cybersecurity and Information Security, with the ability to explain core principles and real-world applications clearly. Proficiency in Network Security, including secure network design, monitoring, and incident response. Applied skills in Application Security, such as secure coding concepts, vulnerability identification, and remediation practices. Ability to teach Malware Analysis fundamentals, including malware behavior, detection techniques, and mitigation strategies. Previous teaching, training, or mentoring experience in post-secondary, corporate, or professional settings is highly beneficial. Relevant academic background in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline; industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH) are an asset. Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills, with a commitment to inclusive, learner-centered instruction. Ability to design or adapt course materials, labs, and assessments that reflect current tools, frameworks, and industry best practices. Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and ability to work collaboratively within an academic environment.
