Food & Beverage Duty Manager

TO Live is seeking an experienced and service-driven Food & Beverage Duty Manager join the Patron and Event Services team on a part-time basis.
The Food & Beverage Duty Manager is a key leadership role within TO Live’s Food & Beverage operations. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Food & Beverage (or their designate), this position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day bar, concession, and event operations while ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and service standards. The Duty Manager provides hands-on leadership for frontline teams, supports event execution, and plays an essential role in delivering a seamless and professional patron experience.
ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and supervise unionized staff and contract personnel (servers, security, etc.) during events to ensure smooth, professional operations.

Support the planning and execution of events, acting as a key operational contact on-site.

Provide ongoing staff training in TO Live service standards, responsible alcohol service, safe food handling, sanitation, and departmental technology.

Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures and maintain accountability for POS operations.

Monitor staff conduct, uniforms, and hygiene to uphold organizational standards.
-
Foster a positive and professional work environment for all team members.
-
Respond to patron and staff inquiries, resolving issues directly or escalating to senior management where necessary.

Oversee bar and concession setup, sanitation, and close-down in accordance with health and safety guidelines.

Conduct accurate opening and closing inventory counts and investigate discrepancies beyond tolerance thresholds.

Perform additional duties as required by the Senior Manager of Food & Beverage or designate.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Smart Serve Certification (mandatory).
-
Safe Food Handling Certification (ServSafe or equivalent).
-
1 – 3 years of supervisory experience in a comparable food and beverage environment, preferably in a unionized setting.

Strong knowledge of food service operations, cash handling, and inventory management.
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Explorer); ability to learn POS systems quickly.
-
Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment.

Strong leadership and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
WORKING CONDITIONS

This role typically involves working in a fast-paced environment

Ability to move quickly for long periods of time.

The position may require handling and lifting items (generally up to 45 lbs., with occasional heavier lifting). Accommodations can be made where appropriate.

Work within unionized environments, adhering to the terms of Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Variable and event-driven work schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Limited natural light in certain workplace areas.

Travel between TO Live venues as required
