About the role
Our client, a leading food distribution organization based in Vancouver, BC, is seeking a Director of Food Service to lead the continued growth and integration of its Food Service division. This is a unique leadership opportunity to build a unified Food Service platform following a recent acquisition, while driving commercial strategy, sales performance, and operational collaboration across multiple business units.
Reporting directly to the President, the Director of Food Service will lead the integration of two established Food Service operations, strengthen customer relationships, develop high-performing sales teams, and identify new opportunities for business growth. This role will play a key part in shaping the future direction of the company's Food Service business. This position is fully on-site in Vancouver, BC.
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $130,000 – $150,000 Team performance bonus Relocation assistance available Comprehensive benefits package Opportunity to join a growing organization during an exciting period of expansion and transformation Key Responsibilities Develop and execute the overall Food Service growth strategy across multiple business units and geographic markets. Lead the integration of recently acquired Food Service operations, creating a unified customer offering and sales strategy. Identify opportunities to expand market share through new business development, cross-selling initiatives, and strategic customer growth. Build strong relationships with key Food Service customers while expanding existing accounts and developing new business opportunities. Lead, coach, and develop Sales Managers and their respective sales teams, fostering a high-performance and customer-focused culture. Establish sales objectives, KPIs, and performance metrics while driving accountability across the organization. Collaborate closely with operations, procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure exceptional customer service and operational execution. Evaluate pricing strategies, customer profitability, and market trends to support sustainable business growth. Lead organizational change initiatives while driving collaboration across multiple business units and functional teams. Provide strategic recommendations and regular business performance updates to the executive leadership team. Qualifications 8+ years of progressive leadership experience within Food Service distribution, food manufacturing, or a related industry. Proven success leading business development initiatives and driving profitable sales growth. Strong leadership experience managing and developing high-performing sales teams. Solid understanding of Food Service distribution, production, logistics, pricing strategies, and customer segmentation. Experience leading organizational transformation, business integration, or significant change initiatives is considered an asset. Demonstrated ability to develop strategic growth plans while executing operationally. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence customers and internal stakeholders. Experience working within a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization.
