Description:

  • We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Management Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will lead and support a team of project managers through all phases of the project lifecycle—from initial concept to successful completion. Acting as the primary point of contact for project activities, you will collaborate with partners and subject matter experts to scope, develop, and implement projects that meet business needs and deliver exceptional value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to project and solution teams to ensure timely delivery, technical sustainability, and long-term supportability of project outcomes.
  • Lead full-time project management activities for EGI-related IT projects, proactively managing scope, budget, schedule, risks, and deliverables to maximize stakeholder value.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including project structure, resourcing, financials, and timelines.
  • Apply knowledge of system interdependencies to design and plan integrated solutions that drive meaningful business results.
  • Manage projects in alignment with TIS EPMO standards, utilizing both PMBOK Waterfall methodologies and Agile practices where appropriate.
  • Balance competing priorities, timelines, and constraints across multiple simultaneous projects and complex programs.
  • Provide direction on project mandates, documentation, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing analysis.
  • Prepare project status updates, financial reports, and executive‑level presentations for senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Develop, review, and facilitate approval of project deliverables to ensure compliance with governance standards.
  • Support the implementation of change management processes, tools, and procedures to ensure seamless deployment and protect critical systems.
  • Continuously evaluate internal processes and recommend improvements that promote efficiency and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate with Business Relationship Managers and Application Operations Managers to create business cases for new initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate vendor performance, addressing issues directly or through the Vendor Management Office (VMO) as required.
  • Facilitate issue resolution and escalate concerns appropriately to ensure smooth project progress.
  • Apply leadership, facilitation, and organizational knowledge to guide teams and stakeholders through project execution.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience, based on education, certifications, and competency development.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Proven ability to assess project environments, identify potential risks, and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, planning, and leadership capabilities.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and service-focused work style.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.
  • Commitment to continuous technical learning and personal development.
  • Ability to travel and manage projects across Canada and the United States.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) designation is highly desirable.
