Position Overview:
The Electrical Designer is responsible for the design and ensuring that electrical requirements of products align with customer needs and code compliance, delivering solutions on time. The Electrical Designer demonstrates technical expertise in interpreting client specifications and designing electrical switchgear, preparing detailed calculations and drawings with a degree of autonomy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed design drawings including:
- wiring schematics
- single lines
- three lines
- System architecture
- Wiring diagrams
- Detailed bill of materials (BOM) for projects
- Create drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Occasional site visits to acquire information for design and installation of new equipment and retrofits.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by your manager to ensure REV’s goals and objectives are met.
- Performs all duties so as to meet the responsibilities listed in REV’s Safety and Human Resources Policy Manual.
- Performs duties according to REV’s quality system procedures and work instructions.
- Responsible for preparation of drawings (Wiring diagrams, single lines, three lines, bill of materials, cable sizing and other assembly schematics, etc..) control panel and switchgear/protection wiring design documentation.
- Responsible for customer, scope of work (project and commercial), standards, and code compliance for all/assigned projects.
Qualifications:
- Drafting/Design familiarity.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
- 1+ Year of electrical design experience required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Mathematical competency.
- Good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent use of the English language (spoken and written).
- Education required for the role; Electrical Engineering Technologist, Electrical Engineering Degree, or Applicable Drafting/Design Certifications.
