Senior Resource & Mining Planning Manager
A leading organisation in the construction materials and mining industry is seeking a Senior Resource & Mining Planning Manager to lead resource estimation, mine planning, and geological operations across multiple sites. The role focuses on regulatory compliance, resource optimisation, and supporting safe and efficient mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead resource estimation, reserve management, and annual reporting in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements. Develop and oversee short- and long-term mine plans to optimise extraction, rehabilitation, and operational efficiency. Collaborate with operations and cross-functional teams to implement and monitor mining plans. Manage a team of resource professionals, consultants, and contractors conducting geological investigations and resource modelling. Provide technical support to operational teams, including annual planning and troubleshooting. Identify and evaluate new resource opportunities and support due diligence activities. Assist with land management, environmental permitting, and regulatory compliance. Conduct site visits to assess operations and address geotechnical and slope stability risks. Promote adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies and standards.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geosciences, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years' experience in the mining or construction materials industry. Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) certification. Experience with resource estimation, mine planning, geological modelling, GIS mapping, and 3D modelling software. Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Knowledge of mine planning regulations and industry best practices. Willingness to travel regularly to operational sites.
