About the role
The Technology Project Analyst plays a pivotal role in bridging technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring projects align with organizational goals, timelines, and budgets. This role involves analyzing technical requirements, managing project risks, and facilitating communication between cross-functional teams. This role will also contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of Enova’s overall project management framework. This position reports to the Technology Program Manager.
Skills/Abilities:
- Intermediate-level expertise in project management practices and methodologies.
- Demonstrated capability to lead project teams through indirect influence and peer leadership
- Strong time management skills, with the ability and willingness to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities effectively, especially under pressure and within fast paced, deadline-driven environments.
- Strong risk analysis and problem-solving skills to identify technical, financial, and operational risks, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Strategic thinking, with the ability to align projects with strategic goals and objectives.
- Intermediate verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive relationships with all types of staff, including technical, professional, vendor and management.
- Intermediate organization, planning and technical skills to support independent management and timely completion of work plan assignments and priorities to established timelines /deadlines.
- Demonstrated customer service mindset with a high degree of accountability and ownership.
- Ability to negotiate and influence the behaviour of stakeholders to achieve desired results; strong negotiation skills to manage conflicts and ensure stakeholder alignment.
- Active and enthusiastic contributor, including personal development, receptive to feedback/coaching and sharing knowledge with others.
- Willingness and ability to stay current with developments in at least one area of technology, both within Enova and across the broader technology industry.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with project and task management tools such as Microsoft Project, Monday.com, JIRA, or Trello.
Education/Knowledge:
- University or college degree/diploma or equivalent training or experience.
- PMP designation or equivalent experience with a willingness to maintain these skills even if a reasonable amount of time is required outside of work hours.
- Intermediate knowledge of Project Management practices.
- Intermediate knowledge of various software development lifecycle (SDLC) models.
- Knowledge of energy sector business, preferably from a business process perspective.
- Basic understanding of business analysis, processes and workflows.
- Good financial, reporting and/or business acumen, demonstrated ability to work within budgets.
Experience:
- 2+ years of related experience contributing directly to and managing projects.
- Experience in planning or contributing to scheduling and resourcing a variety of sized projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provision of Expert Advice: Serve as a liaison between technical teams (software, infrastructure, security) and non-technical stakeholders (business owners, subject matter experts and front-line workers). Through this work you will be expected to translate business requirements into technical specifications and detailed project plans that can be tracked against scope, timeline and budget to meet project and team demands. Supports in the identification of project resources and allocation required for effective project delivery.
- Project Management: Collaborates with business partners on major projects of a complex nature involving multiple areas or systems crossing services with multiple dependencies. Contributes to establishing a Project Charter with Scope, Schedule, Cost and Quality targets. Participates in negotiating project deliverables, schedules and costing for services from other departments across the entire organization as well as external vendors where applicable. May be involved in several projects of varying complexity concurrently.
- Administration: Updates documentation to track, monitor and communicate project progress against the project management plan, requirements, quality measures, standard processes and milestones. Maintains up to date project plans, charters and others as required. Responsible for maintaining project drive/documents for audit purposes.
- Technical: Will be involved in the execution of the technically complex aspects of assigned projects. Contribute to the implementation of various software applications, enhancements, and upgrades that support the business functions.
- Process: Tracks project budget as well as the budget for discretionary capital expense items and is a contributor to ensuring projects are delivered within project cost management budget. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for support purposes or to meet deadlines. Participate in project meetings and forums to solicit feedback, input, and expectations which will be incorporated into project plans. May facilitate current/future state workshops and gap analysis. Provide communication updates to project team and stakeholders. Participate in project reviews to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations based on findings. Support change management efforts to ensure a smooth transition during program implementation.
- Safety: Support corporate Occupational Health and Safety initiatives by incorporating safe work practices into daily work routine. Report any unsafe conditions or observed unsafe work practices to Supervisor.
