**IT Systems Administrator (Permanent)
Location: Port Coquitlam, BC** Staffing Placement Opportunity We are seeking a highly skilled and security-conscious Systems Administrator . In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for maintaining and securing the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, endpoints, and cloud services. You’ll play a key role in implementing security best practices, identifying vulnerabilities, and responding to incidents to ensure systems are resilient, secure, and reliable.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain IT security policies and procedures, including Azure security best practices.
- Implement and enforce system hardening standards and patch management procedures.
- Manage and monitor computer systems, applications, and networks, including both On-Premises and Azure IaaS/PaaS environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Office 365 and Azure services.
- Ensure regular and secure data backups across On-Premises, Office 365, and Azure systems.
- Assist in managing firewalls, endpoint protection, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Collaborate with other IT and business teams to support daily operations.
- Educate employees on cybersecurity best practices and contribute to awareness initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or a minimum of 4 years of experience as a Systems Administrator.
- Strong experience supporting Azure, Office 365, and endpoint management environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server, Active Directory, and Remote Desktop Services.
- Experience with security tools including antivirus, EDR, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners.
- Hands-on experience with Azure services (VMs, Azure AD, Azure Networking, App Services, Azure Storage).
- Knowledge of Office 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams.
- Experience with endpoint management, including device management, software deployment, and policy configuration.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with identity and access management, MFA, and privileged access controls.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
