JOIN OUR TEAM Pacific Coastal Airlines (PCA) is looking for a Training and Development Specialist to join our Quality Assurance Team.

This position is based out of our hangar near the South Terminal at Vancouver International Airport in Richmond.

Reporting to the Pacific Coastal Airlines Quality Assurance Manager, the Training and Development Specialist partners closely with the Maintenance Team to develop, implement, and enhance strategic training initiatives for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs). This role is responsible for the coordination, delivery, and continuous improvement of maintenance training programs, while supporting the professional growth and ongoing development of departmental personnel.

The Training and Development Specialist maintains a strong presence on the hangar floor, working across both day and night shifts to provide hands-on instruction and guidance related to fleet inspections, maintenance procedures, and operational best practices. Success in this role requires a proactive and highly organized individual with strong communication and leadership skills, capable of working effectively both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced maintenance environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop, deliver, and maintain comprehensive maintenance training programs and course materials Design instructional content aligned with company procedures, manufacturers’ requirements, and regulatory standards Prepare and deliver in-class Aircraft Type Training programs for both the 704 and 705 fleet types, in accordance with MPM Appendix B Type Training Guidelines. Administer initial and recurrent training programs with a strong focus on technical competency while ensuring continuous skill development Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations by working directly alongside Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) in daily operations Analyze maintenance trends and recurring issues to identify error patterns and implement targeted training solutions Support and enforce the development, implementation, and compliance of maintenance procedures, policies, bulletins, directives, and regulatory requirements Coordinate and manage training schedules, course logistics, and resource requirements Identify employee development needs through training records and performance evaluations, and establish structured development plans Maintain, monitor, and update departmental training records while forecasting and scheduling required training in coordination with Maintenance Management Provide support for ACA, EWA, and SCA training initiatives as required Maintain effective communication with operational teams and ensure all stakeholders are informed of maintenance concerns, updates, and training-related matters. Coordinate external training opportunities and liaise with third-party training providers Promote and maintain a safe, professional, and consistent working environment while reinforcing company safety culture and standards

QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Transport Canada AME M1 and/or M2 License required Minimum of five (5) years of experience in maintenance of transport category aircraft. Previous leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience is considered a strong asset Instructional techniques training is considered a strong asset Confident presenting to both small and large groups with the ability to motivate and inspire others Experience designing, developing, and maintaining training courses Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational communication skills Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced operational environment
