ADULT EDUCATION TEACHER
Gitwangak Education Society (GES) invites teacher applications/resumes for a full-time adult education teacher for Gitwangak Adult School.
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: **
The successful candidate must hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate
Related Experience:
· Promote high expectations and academic achievement for all students in a safe and nurturing environment
· Recent successful adult education teaching experience; grades 10-12; Adult dogwood
· Employment readiness
· Coordinate adult education programs, culture programs, and training
· Differentiates curriculum expectations and teaching strategies to meet the needs of all students
· Ability to engage students in a positive learning environment.
· Manage student behaviour in the classroom incorporating school-wide rules and discipline policy
· Experience and ability to integrate Gitxsan culture / language into the curriculum
· Experience and knowledge with special needs students
· Be a team player and work with all staff in a positive manner and provide support as needed
· Exceptional inter-personal skills and particularly those related to parent/community involvement
We are focused on the growth of programming in our school so that our young people who have not graduated can complete the Adult Dogwood and continue on into post-secondary education to become confident, self-reliant, and knowledgeable Gitxsan people who will excel in two worlds.
Annual Salary: $63,513 and is dependent on experience
Closing Date: July 31, 2026 or until the position is filled.
Start Date: August 24, 2026
