Connect International School (CIS) is a boutique private school located in downtown Toronto, offering Adult ESL, EAP, IELTS, and other test-preparation courses, Ontario Secondary School (OSSD), and Career Development programs to international students from around the world.

Duties & Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, student-centred ESL lessons for adult international students. Teach integrated language skills, including speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment that motivates and engages students. Apply project-based learning (PBL) principles to promote meaningful, real-world language learning. Integrate technology effectively to enhance teaching and student participation. Connect classroom learning to real-life situations and practical communication. Assess student learning through portfolios, classroom performance, and ongoing formative assessments. Provide timely, constructive, and personalized feedback that is reliable, valid, and supports student growth. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate attendance records and student evaluations. Prepare lesson materials using the school’s curriculum and learning resources. Participate in teacher meetings, professional development activities, and school events as required. Collaborate with the Academic Team to support student success and continuous program improvement.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field. TESL Ontario (OCELT), TESL Canada, or an equivalent recognized TESL/TESOL certification. Demonstrated passion for teaching and supporting adult English language learners. Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) designation. Experience teaching Ontario Secondary School (OSSD) courses. Previous ESL teaching experience in both Canada and overseas. Experience preparing students for IELTS or other English proficiency examinations. Knowledge of project-based learning (PBL) and student-centred teaching methodologies. Experience using portfolio-based assessment to monitor student learning and progress. Ability to integrate educational technology into classroom instruction. Experience working with multicultural and international students.
