Senior QA Analyst

How does the role impact the organization?

As a Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst for Raymond James Ltd. (RJL), this role will promote and encourage best practices for Quality Assurance across the RJL Project Management Office (PMO) and our business.

We are seeking a Senior QA Analyst to support the documentation and execution of Test Strategies for multiple projects and RJL applications, with varying levels of complexity, incorporating both manual and automated test methodologies. This role will report directly to the RJL QA Manager and assist with the day-to-day coordination of additional offshore QA resources.

The position will initially be dedicated to a long-term, enterprise-scale program focused on replacing RJL’s core banking platform. In this capacity, the Senior QA Analyst will play a critical role in planning, preparing, and executing comprehensive test deliverables for the program, coordinating with our vendor and individuals from our Project Management Office (PMO), as well as our business stakeholders.

As the program progresses, the role will transition to also supporting other business applications and will be instrumental in defining, building, and implementing an automation test strategy to improve testing efficiency and quality across the organization.

This is a senior, individual contributor role requiring strong technical depth, leadership through influence, and experience within regulated or financial services environments.

What will your role be responsible for?

  • Act as the primary QA point of contact for a major, long-term core banking replacement program.
  • Analyze business and technical requirements to define test scope, approach, and effort estimates.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain comprehensive test deliverables, including:
  • Test strategies and test plans
  • Detailed test cases and test scripts
  • Test data requirements
  • Traceability matrices
  • Test execution reports and defect metrics
  • Execute manual testing across multiple test phases, including system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing support.
  • Proactively identify testing risks, dependencies, and environment issues, and communicate impacts clearly to stakeholders.
  • Lead defect triage, ensuring defects are clearly documented, prioritized, and tracked through resolution.
  • Work closely with development teams to clarify issues, validate fixes, and ensure re-testing is completed effectively.
  • Champion a quality-first mindset across project teams and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of an enterprise automation test strategy for selected applications.
  • Identify suitable candidates for automation and define automation coverage goals.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts, ensuring alignment with overall QA standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with architecture, development, and DevOps teams to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines where applicable
  • Liaise regularly with offshore QA resources, acting as a local point of escalation and guidance on behalf of the QA Manager
  • Review offshore test artifacts for quality, completeness, and alignment with program standards
  • Provide clear direction, knowledge transfer, and ongoing feedback to ensure consistent delivery and outcomes.
