The Derivatives Operations team provides support for the Investment Management team at AIMCo by managing operational functions for Over the Counter (OTC) and cleared derivatives.
Note: This is a 4-month, full-time term from May 2026 through August 2026.
Responsibilities Include:
- Learning how to support transactions, payments processing, and trade confirmations
- Learning about confirming the OTC contract between AIMCo and its counterparties
- Reviewing contract terms and obligations and compare them against AIMCo’s trade order management systems
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Math and Statistics, Business, Finance, or related field of study
- Proficient with Microsoft Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to assess complex issues and quickly develop ideas and solutions
- Generates creative approaches to addressing problems and opportunities, makes sound decisions after reviewing all relevant information, takes calculated risks and recognizes the impact of solutions
- A high degree of accountability
- Ability to use a collaborative approach to achieve goals and produce results.
- Understanding and passion for investments is an asset.
Success Factors:
The student will become familiar enough with derivatives to support the daily work required to ensure payment and contractual obligations are met, resolve discrepancies with counterparties by leveraging the knowledge gained on ISDA confirmations and legal terms within, as well as develop collaborative professional relationships both internally at AIMCo and externally with derivative counterparties.
