ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Inside Sales Specialist will work directly with mortgage brokers to drive quality business, leverage a variety of product offerings and ensure profitability while establishing and maintaining business relationships. This position will also lead and coordinate the on-boarding of new brokers by providing great first experience in Educating newly onboarded brokers to the product and services.

In addition:

  • Develop, strengthen and maintain new broker relationships

  • Maintain consistent, objective and sound risk assessments in a high volume, quality and service-orientedenvironment

  • Recognize cross-sell/upsell opportunities, recommend alternative mortgage proposals and communicate with the team to maximize business development and profitability

  • Remain current on latest market trends and participate in industry events to secure competitive advantage

  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of highly evolving underwriting/lending guidelines, regulations, and utilize specialized knowledge of loan products to interpret these guidelines to assist the broker in their understanding

  • Delivery of established sales targets for assigned territories working in tandem with the Business Development Manager(s)

  • Educating brokers on HTC products and solutions

  • Ensuring Efficient hand off to BDM once targets are achieved
    Ensure broker phone calls and emails are returned in a timely manner in accordance with defined Service Level Agreement.

  • Work effectively with all internal and external business partners to achieve required organizational &departmental goals and achieve excellence

  • Evaluate and analyze documentation supplied by client and broker to ensure its authenticity and compliance with all aspects of Home Trust Company’s policies and guidelines per delegated authority matrices and applicable compliance obligations, including Underwriting policies and lending guidelines, Privacy, Anti-Money Laundering/ Anti-Terrorist Financing and internal Anti-Fraud Policy requirements

  • File Unusual Transaction Reports as applicable to fulfil individual employee obligations to detect and deter financial crimes activity

  • Ensure all mandatory Training is completed within a designated deadline.

WHAT WE REQUIRE:

  • Authorized to work in Canada

  • Great communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree required in Business, Economics or equivalent

  • 1-3 years experience with mortgage lending

  • Strong understanding of residential mortgage products

  • Proficient in reviewing residential mortgage appraisals
