Scope
Reporting to the HRIS Manager, the HRIS Specialist serves as a critical link between HR/Payroll operations and technology, driving innovation and efficiency through expert system knowledge and business insight.
Responsibilities
Business Analysis and Requirements Gathering Leads advanced business analysis for HR, identifying and eliciting critical business requirements Evaluates current and future-state HR processes, identifying opportunities for system-based improvements Develops compelling business cases and detailed functional specifications Cultivates strong relationships with key HR/Payroll stakeholders to gain deep insights into business objectives, processes, and system needs
Technical Liaison and Solution Design Provides expert user perspective and subject matter guidance to internal and external technical teams Ensures alignment of HR/Payroll processes with strategy and future directions Facilitates effective meetings among project teams, HR clients, and technical staff
Data Analytics and Integrity Management Delivers comprehensive system-based analytical services for a wide range of HR metrics and reporting needs Establishes data standards and principles to ensure consistency and reliability Conducts regular audits to monitor and maintain data integrity Handles sensitive and confidential HR data with utmost care and compliance
System Support and Enhancement Provides high-level functional support during system upgrades, enhancements, and customizations Leads system integration testing and oversees functional and user acceptance testing Designs and delivers comprehensive user training sessions Manages system security and user access protocols Develops detailed functional documentation for various HR systems
Innovation and Best Practices Conducts research on HR/Payroll system best practices and emerging trends Advises on optimal approaches for system expansion, enhancements, and customizations Provides expert guidance on data requirements, statistics, and reporting capabilities
Qualifications
Bachelor¿s degree in a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in HR information systems (preferably PeopleSoft HCM), in a complex unionized environment.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Demonstrates advanced proficiency in HR systems (preferably PeopleSoft HCM), including security, query and reporting tools
Possesses comprehensive understanding of HR system capabilities, database fundamentals, and related technologies
Exhibits strong analytical skills to address complex system-based requirements and perform in-depth analysis on multifaceted HR/Payroll issues
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and develop relationships with multiple stakeholders
Demonstrates exceptional planning and organizational skills, and effectively manages HR system information and prioritizes competing demands
Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting ability; resolves complex HR system issues with innovative solutions
Embraces change and continuous learning - stays current with HR technology trends and adapts to new systems and processes
