This role works closely with other leaders to ensure compliance with Fairmont luxury standards and to deliver an exceptional guest experience at every stage of the stay. Reporting to the General Manager, the Hotel Manager plays a key role in leadership coordination, financial performance, and fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability. In the absence of the General Manager, the position assumes full operational leadership of the property and acts as a trusted representative for stakeholders. Direct Reports: Director of Rooms Director of food and beverage Executive Chef Director of Engineering Director of Security Key Stakeholders: Internal: Executive Committee members Department heads Operational leaders and employees External: Guests and VIPs Ownership representatives Suppliers and subcontractors Senior executives and government authorities Qualifications Profile sought To succeed in this role, the individual must be able to effectively perform all essential responsibilities. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Experience Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years at Executive Committee level in a large luxury hotel Previous experience as Director of Operations in hospitality Knowledge of Opera PMS and Silverware systems (an asset) Education Degree or Bachelor’s in hospitality management or a related field Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Strong financial acumen (budgeting, revenue optimization, labor cost management, forecasting, inventory, expense control) Proficiency in data analysis and strategic decision-making Proven ability to develop, lead, and motivate high-performing teams Strong customer service orientation with attention to detail and results-driven mindset Ability to manage a demanding, high-end clientele Knowledge of luxury standards, market trends, and service innovation Strong business management and problem-solving skills under pressure Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Fluency in French required; advanced English required Strong organizational and prioritization skills Autonomy, proactivity, and adaptability Strong commitment to confidentiality and security Personal Qualities Collaborative leadership style Passion for luxury hospitality and continuous improvement Flexibility and adaptability in demanding environments Conditions High level of flexibility and availability Willingness for international mobility within 3 to 5 years Additional Information Our Diversity & Inclusion Commitment: We are an inclusive company committed to attracting and promoting diverse talent.
