About the role

Kitchen Designer

Evan’s Home Building Centre Location: Sudbury, Ontario Compensation: $22.63–$29.81/hour + uncapped commission Hours: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week), typically M-F 8:00AM to 5:00PM, with flexibility to accommodate client consultations and Saturday appointments Evan’s Home Building Centre has proudly served the Sudbury community for over 130 years. We’re looking for an experienced Kitchen Designer with at least two years of experience to join our growing Kitchen & Bath team. ABOUT THE ROLL

As a member of our Kitchen & Bath team, you’ll work with homeowners, builders, and contractors to design beautiful and functional spaces. From consultation through final order, you’ll combine creative design, technical expertise, and exceptional customer service to help clients create beautiful, functional spaces that reflect their vision while staying within budget. This role blends design, sales, estimating, and project coordination, making it ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, building relationships, and creating exceptional spaces.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Consult with clients to understand their goals, lifestyle, budget, and priorities Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Design kitchens, bathrooms, and other cabinetry projects using 2020 Design software Prepare floorplans, elevations, renderings, quotations, and estimates Recommend cabinetry, countertops, hardware, plumbing fixtures, and finishing products Ensure designs are accurate, code-conscious, and ready for installation Coordinate site measurements, ordering, deliveries, and project documentation Collaborate with installers, suppliers, and team members throughout each project Build lasting customer relationships while delivering exceptional service Stay current on industry trends, products, and building practices

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate will have: Minimum two years of kitchen design experience Strong customer service, communication, and consultative sales skills Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy Take ownership of projects from consultation through completion Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously A positive, professional attitude Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team Passion for design with a commitment to continuous learning

In this role, you’ll be successful if you: Build trust and lasting relationships with your clients Produce accurate, creative, and technically sound designs Meet sales and gross margin goals Deliver projects accurately, on time, and installation-ready Provide exceptional customer experience from consultation to completion

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Required: Minimum 2 years of kitchen design experience Proficiency with 2020 Flex (2020 Design Live) Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly Valid driver’s license and own vehicle required for on-site consultations and measurements Ability to read residential construction drawings Assets: Diploma from an accredited Architectural Technology, Interior Design program, or related field Knowledge of cabinetry, countertops, flooring, plumbing fixtures, interior finishes, and installation practices Knowledge of residential construction practices and building materials Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Cabinet Vision, Mozaik, or Revit Experience with estimating Experience with Profit Master A portfolio showcasing completed kitchen and bath projects is considered an asset.
