We are a WSIB Gold-level Small Business Health and Safety Leadership Award recipient and a COR-certified company with an exceptional health and safety record.

Our values are our foundation:
Our team is paramount to our success, and it includes everyone. Our value of team manifests in courtesy towards all. This team is ambitious. We embrace challenges, and we keep improving. We are true problem-solvers, seeking win-wins. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve on this team and complete meaningful projects. That gratitude must be repaid with a steady application of honesty and reliability. Wellness for all remains front and centre through culture and standards that go beyond the elements of our award-winning health & safety management system.

##The Role

As a Project Manager, you are accountable for the planning, execution, and financial performance of assigned projects. You report to the Vice President of Operations and lead site supervisors, project administrators, subcontractors, and consultants to deliver work safely, on schedule, and on budget.
This role requires strong discipline, attention to detail, and sound judgment. Project Managers at Hawkins operate in a high-accountability environment with low tolerance for missed details, informal controls, or unmanaged risk.
The role includes involvement in estimating activities, which supports our work acquisition efforts and helps ensure Project Managers maintain a strong understanding of project costs from bid through completion.

##Working With Us

We primarily operate across Ontario’s Golden Horseshoe, with our head office in Stouffville, Ontario. We value collaborative, professional relationships with clients, consultants, and partners, and we expect our Project Managers to represent the company with professionalism and courtesy at all times.

  • Manage budgets, forecasting, change orders, and monthly cost reviews.
  • Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Provide complete information packages to site teams prior to mobilization.
  • Estimate assigned bids and support estimating efforts.
  • Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate project risks.
  • Communicate clearly with clients and stakeholders.
  • Lead, coach, and manage supervisors and project administrators, including performance management.
  • Enforce health and safety policies and participate in continuous system improvement.

##Qualifications

  • Embody the values that our organization is built on and be motivated to contribute to our mission.
  • Experience managing construction projects and staff.
  • Experience in two or more of the following: utilities, infrastructure, environmental, civil, earthworks, landscape construction.
  • Strong record of budget and schedule control.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health and safety leadership.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading, takeoffs, survey, and layout.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PDF-based tools.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Experience estimating is an asset.

##What We’re Looking For

  • Highly conscientious, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Calm and professional under pressure.
  • Considerate communicator who does not avoid accountability.
  • Strong planner and risk manager rather than a risk-taker.
  • Comfortable leading people, including providing corrective feedback when required.
  • Curious, improvement-minded, and willing to learn.

##Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time, permanent position with a starting salary between $80,000–$110,000, commensurate with experience.
