About the role

Job Title: Lead Murex Automation QA

Location: Toronto, ON Work Model: Hybrid (3 Days Onsite) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Lead Murex Automation QA to lead the quality assurance function for Murex implementation, enhancement, upgrade, and transformation initiatives within a Capital Markets environment. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, deep expertise in the Murex platform, and hands-on experience in automation testing. This role is responsible for defining QA strategies, driving automation initiatives, managing end-to-end testing activities, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions across Front Office, Middle Office, and Back Office functions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage QA activities for Murex implementation, enhancement, upgrade, and migration projects. Define, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and quality assurance processes aligned with business and project objectives. Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for Murex applications, interfaces, and integration testing. Plan and oversee functional, system, integration, regression, user acceptance, and end-to-end testing activities. Validate Front-to-Back trade lifecycle processes and ensure complete business process coverage across Murex modules. Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Solution Architects, and Business Stakeholders to ensure requirements are accurately translated into test scenarios. Lead defect management activities, including defect triage, root cause analysis, prioritization, and resolution tracking. Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and faster release cycles. Monitor testing progress, quality metrics, risks, and provide regular status reporting to project leadership. Ensure adherence to QA governance, testing standards, and industry best practices throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Mentor and guide QA team members while fostering a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Participate in Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. 7+ years of Quality Assurance experience, including leading QA teams on Murex implementation and enhancement projects. Hands-on experience with Murex Automation Testing in Capital Markets environments. Strong expertise in test strategy, test planning, test execution, and quality management. Proven experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks for enterprise applications. In-depth knowledge of Murex architecture, workflows, interfaces, trade lifecycle, and Front-to-Back office business processes. Extensive experience with functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing. Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, UFT, or equivalent frameworks. Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing practices. Experience using defect management and test management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or HP ALM. Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum software delivery methodologies. Excellent analytical, leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting Murex upgrades, migrations, and large-scale transformation programs. Strong knowledge of Capital Markets products, including FX, Fixed Income, Equities, Derivatives, and Risk Management. Exposure to DevOps practices and modern QA engineering methodologies. Experience working within Investment Banking or Financial Services organizations. Relevant Murex, QA Automation, or Agile certifications are considered an asset.
