We are looking for a Senior Decision Support Analyst to work with our Decision Support Department to help us continue in our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork.
Reporting to the Manager, Decision Support, the Senior Decision Support Analyst plays a pivotal role in advancing Headwaters’ vision of leveraging data for operational excellence and improved patient outcomes. This role provides advanced analytical expertise to support evidence-based decision-making across clinical and administrative areas.
Position Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Reporting

Collect, analyze, and interpret clinical and operational data from multiple sources.

Develop dashboards and reports for senior leadership, program managers and others as required with statistical and quantitative support.

Conduct data quality investigations and engage in continuous data quality improvements.

Ensure data integrity and compliance with provincial standards.

Support reporting to various with external stakeholders (e.g., Ontario Ministry of Health, OH, CIHI) for data submission, reconciliation, and performance improvement
Performance Measurement
-
Design and monitor KPIs for clinical and corporate programs.

Support quality improvement initiatives through actionable insights.
Resource Planning & Evaluation
-
Provide analytic support for planning, evaluation and forecasting.
-
Model scenarios to optimize resource utilization and improve efficiency.
Decision Support Systems
-
Develop, maintain and enhance data manipulation and reporting tools (Power BI, SQL-based reporting).

Automate recurring reports and enable self-service analytics.

Support data governance & analytics framework
Collaboration, Training & Leadership

Partner with Clinical & non-Clinical Programs, and Senior Leadership.

Train staff and end-users on new data systems, dashboards, and reporting tools.

Mentor junior analysts and contribute to a high-performing team.

Commit to, and actively work to remain knowledgeable and up to date in the assigned field.

Qualifications:
Education & Training
-
An Undergraduate degree in Medical Informatics, Health informatics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
-
Certified Health Information Management Professional with CHIMA and member in good standing an asset.
-
Project Management (PMP) considered an asset.
Experience
-
3–5 years in decision support or healthcare analytics.
-
Experience with the Canadian Institute for Health Information (DAD, NACRS, NRS, CCRS) or other large healthcare datasets (e.g., Wait Times).
-
Knowledge and/or experience with Meditech is an asset.
Technical Skills
-
Strong data visualization and presentation skills.
-
Strong knowledge of database querying (e.g., SQL), programming (e.g., Python and/or R), and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
-
Data Quality Improvement methodology knowledge is required.
-
Knowledge in machine learning, predictive and advanced analytics is preferred.

Proficient use of the MS Office suite (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
