About the role
In keeping with the Covenant Health's Mission, Vision, and Values, and as an integral member of the Nutrition and Food Services Team, the Food Service Ambassador is responsible for informing patients on how to order meals using the room service system, assisting patients as required in placing meal orders, and serving meals to patients, completing all duties in a friendly, personalized, professional, and efficient manner. The Food Service Ambassador communicates with the entire healthcare team to help ensure patient's nutritional needs are met; maintaining the highest level of confidentiality. The Food Service Ambassador must accurately and efficiently use technology, such as computer software in a windows environment and smart phones, to receive patient orders and communicate with NFS team members. The Food Service Ambassador participates in departmental meetings and programs, participates in the training/orientation of new staff and students and performs other duties as required. These tasks are completed with minimal supervision, and following all applicable policies and standard operating procedures. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 2111 Collective Agreement.
